Profile
Richmond is an economist and a Research Fellow at the Institute of Statistical Social and Economic Research (ISSER), University of Ghana and a consultant with Impact Initiatives Limited. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Economics from the University of Ghana in 2004 and 2007 respectively and a PhD from the Open University, UK in 2014. He has over 10 years of research/professional experience. Before joining ISSER in December 2016 and consulting with Impact Initiatives, he worked for the Open University of UK for about 2 years as a Research Fellow. Richmond has a research background in economics and industrial development issues, spanning several specific areas including manufacturing, health as well a M&E. Currently, Richmond’s research interests are focused on enterprise level analysis particularly from the perceptive of economics of innovation, (global) value chain analysis, and trade and investment issues in sub Saharan Africa. His research work in the last five years has focused on manufacturing and extractive industries in Africa. He has also worked on consultancy basis for several organisations such as UNDP (Ghana office), Oxfam Ghana and JMK consulting group.
