Poultry products are on a high demand in Ghana with several companies importing meat and poultry feed. This practice does not create a sustainable poultry industry because of its dependence on importation.
It is on this premise that NAFL is seeking to enter the poultry industry through synergies with its maize and poultry feed production. NAFL is an integrated agribusiness located at Nkujua Aframso in the Sekyere Central District in the Ashanti Region. The company currently has 1,000 acres of maize under cultivation, with massive competitive advantage in this sector.
The company has acquired over 4,000 acres of land at its present location for the cultivation of maize to feed the envisaged capacity of 100,000 birds. The company intend to employ the latest technology in the poultry industry by using the 2 pullet systems which can house over 50,000 birds each. IMIL was contracted to both prepare the business plan and undertake credit facilitation for the company.
